Terms of Service
Effective August 6, 2026
These terms cover your use of BoardStack, built by CauseCanopy. By signing in, you agree to them. This is a small pilot program right now, so read these as plain-spoken ground rules rather than a formal contract.
Who can use BoardStack
BoardStack is currently invite-only, for volunteer board members of participating pilot organizations. We may add or remove access at our discretion, especially while we're in the pilot.
Your account
You sign in with your Google account — there's no separate BoardStack password. You're responsible for activity under your login; let us know at hello@causecanopy.org if you think someone else has access to your account.
Your board's data
Whatever your board enters into BoardStack — activities, notes, committee structure — belongs to your board. We store it to run the service and don't claim ownership of it. You can export it to CSV at any time.
Acceptable use
Use BoardStack for what it's built for: running your board's activities and handoffs. Don't use it to store financial data — that's out of scope by design — and don't use it to access another organization's data or misuse other members' information.
No warranty
BoardStack is free, pilot-stage software, provided as-is. We do our best to keep it running and your data safe, but we don't promise uptime and aren't liable for lost data, missed deadlines, or anything else that goes wrong from relying on it. Please don't make BoardStack your only copy of anything mission-critical.
Changes and termination
We may update these terms, pause the pilot, or discontinue the service, and we'll do our best to give notice when we can. You can stop using BoardStack, and ask us to delete your data, at any time.
